Applied Structural Drying

20/04/2010

After both Russell and Fraser achieved outstanding results in their flood damage restoration examinations, they just couldn't wait to return to the National Flood School to sit their Applied Structural Drying exams.

Both Russell and Fraser have been studying at the National Flood School now for over two years in all aspects of remediation from water and fire damage to mould remediation.

The National Flood School is an official IICRC training centre and is home to the only floodable house in Europe, which during the course is flooded with 1500 Gallons of water, between 8 Rooms saturating 60 common household materials.

The course is intense from start to finish, packing the theory of drying followed by the practical flooding of the house and attempting to try the building during the remainder of the course. At the time of our course, the weather conditions weren't in our favour and owner/founder of the National Flood School Mr Chris Netherton Senior expected that we would be unable to restore the building to a dry condition before to the end of the course.

Against all odds and Chris's expectations we managed to dry the house completely within the given period, for which I suspect our success was owed to the excellent training received by course lecturer Adam Jankowski, and the use of speed drying techniques.

Drying buildings after a flood or water damage leak is a specialist skill, requiring understanding of how water and moisture affect building materials and the delicate balance between heating and dehumidification, ensuring you achieve maximum efficiency and performance from the vast range of specialist drying equipment and techniques available.

Both Russell and Fraser passed the IICRC examinations and are now by Qualification Applied Structural Drying Technicians. Unfortunately for Russell, Fraser hung him out to dry achieving an outstanding pass rate of 89% against Russell's 86%.

Russell and Fraser now join the ranks of the true professionals within the cleaning, restoration, and inspection industry, and the IICRC welcomes their participation and continuing education.

Congratulations Russell & Fraser

Well Done!
