When trying to find a suitable surveyor I was cautious based on past experiences however I couldn't recommend this company more.
The admin staff were excellent with handling my request and the surveyor arrived promptly and carried out a robust survey.
The report was fantastic and the surveyor had obviously spend a decent amount of time compiling the measurement results, photos and also diagrams of how and where the issues were seen.
I would definitely recommend this companies surveying service.

Damp problems in Yorkshire
"Just to alert anyone considering getting a damp survey done in Yorkshire that I've just saved at least £600 by using Dryfix Preservation. I'd previously called in a firm offering a "free" survey but, after seeing comments on MSE (Money Saving Expert.com), I decided to pay for another survey to get an unbiased opinion.
The conclusion of the "free" survey was that I had rising damp and an injected damp-proof course was needed which would cost nearly £600 .. or £800 if I had all the walls done!
Dryfix came and did a detailed examination which established that the water was not coming up from the soil and that the wall was DRY!
They could easily have reported that the wall needed some expensive treatment but they told me that the only thing I need to do is replace the damaged plaster. What a huge relief that was.
It may seem like a lot of money to pay for a survey but it's better to get a report from someone who isn't trying to sell you something!
I have already told my friends and neighbours and I wish you every success.

It was a huge task required and we were blown away by the hard work, skill and professionalism of James & Alan and finally, Jack who all did an amazing job damp proofing our ground floor. We were so impressed by how clean and tidy the guys kept the environment considering the level of work and by how little the work interrupted our day to day life!

Just like to say a big thank you to the guys who came and did the Lintel, they were extremely tidy and clean in their work and there was much less disruption than we expected!
I was in a slight dilemma with this property, as agents acting for the landlord you want to get things right, damp, mould and water ingress can be a nightmare trying to achieve the right results. Many have ladders and an opinion, but not all really have the in depth knowledge to create a solution, and very few have the ability to create such an in depth report as I have just received from Dryfix along with supporting evidence promoting the professionalism of their company.
I’m impressed and have submitted the report to our client along with my recommendations.
Having recently purchased a property that was showing signs of damp, I contacted Dryfix (Russell) on the recommendation of friends, to arrange an on-site inspection and remedial works to the property.
From the report I have received, it is clear that Dryfix provide a level of service that is truly second to none. The report was exceptionally detailed and explained everything in a way that I could understand. It provided in-depth, comprehensive analysis of a range of our issues and the recommended treatments to ensure that damp would not continue to haunt us in the future.
Russell was fantastic to deal with and took the time to go through all of the aspects with me (and answer the hundred questions I had over our email correspondence later on). I would highly recommend Dryfix. The quote I received for the works was competitive, and the service and diligence shown throughout the whole process was excellent.
We needed to have a very old chimney breast to be removed, more to the point half a chimney breast removed. The lower half had been removed to make way for a staircase many years ago. Once the outer plaster and inner rubble was removed in turned out the entire gable end of the house was balanced on ancient woodwork and what we think was the old hearth stone from the upstairs fire place. So in other words very unstable and in danger of falling down. Russel set about getting structural engineer reports and figured out a way around fixing it without knocking down the entire wall and starting again! His Dryfix team then started a long and difficult job of making our old house not just safe but thoroughly robust and ready for the next 180 years! The work was done by a very excellent, talented and hard working team! They had not one but two rolled steal joists to fix into place, one to hold up the roof and old chimney breast while the second was permanently installed into our back wall. Incredibly hard work and all done with great care and skill while still looking after the other bits of our old house! We cannot begin to sing the praises of these guys enough, at all times we felt in good hands with great communication from Russel and his team. Even our cat grew to like them and she's not keen on most people! I would like to thanks Russel, Fraser and the guys for everything! Our home is safe and solid thanks to your amazing hard work. I cannot begin to recommend Dryfix enough, They are excellent, simple as that.
Living in a beautiful Victorian house inevitably brings with it a need to keep on top of maintenance. A recent building survey suggested that there were a number of problems with damp, a couple of relatively minor structural issues, and a few other issues which needed attention. Having contacted a few companies ( including Peter Cox, who was appalling) we settled for Dryfix since it's a local company, their initial survey costs were very competitive, and they were very responsive.
Russell, the owner came out, and I was impressed with his knowledge, the forensic equipment used to look closely at the issues, and his honestly in assessing the problems. There was no suggestion whatsoever that he had anything other than our best interests, and costs at heart. He quickly identified the source of the problems, explained the remedies simply, and put me at ease with regard to the work required, and the competence of his staff in undertaking the work. The report is extremely comprehensive, and having compared it with a friends report from a national company, I can honestly say it it is excellent.
Whilst the work is still to be done, I'm now sleeping at night knowing the solutions are in safe hands.

After various inaccurate assessments of our damp problem by other tradesmen we decided to pay for a survey by Dryfix. The fee was well justified and the skills and equipment used were well beyond our expectation. The work was carried out on schedule and to a high quality and the site left clean and tidy. Problem now solved
