  • Specialist drying system installed into this large multi story building of separate apartments in Leeds. Specifically designed drying systems were installed on various floor levels throughout the building to dry the structure and finishes as quickly as possible due to a burst water pipe of the top floor which affected the entire building from ground level - roof level.

  • Alan's got his trowel out again! This time Alan's rebuilding this bespoke kitchen for a client in Bilborough after we have successfully treated and repaired their extensive damp problem in the kitchen. 
  • Alan's fancy brickwork again, this time within the vestibule of York semi dethatched property. Here Alan created a new outer leaf wall with insulated cavity to reduce the risk of mould humidity issues occurring internally to a wall separating the vestibule originally constructed from 100mm solid brickwork. 
  • Theres nothing like providing great protection to walls and floor preventing the risk of damage before you start. Rember the six P's....  Proper Planning and Preparation Prevents Poor Performance. 
  • Here Alan is creating an insulated cavity wall against a previous lounge external wall within the open front vestibule. This wall was previously problematic with condensate and mould due to its low surface temperature and method of construction, however not anymore with our improvements.

  • We're back on google maps, this time working in Leeds! Working? I mean, when were not on our phones leaning against the skip that is!
  • Ideally it would be nice to have a clear working environment free of all obstacles and obstructions but in the ideal world it’s just not always possible. Here Alan and Rob are replacing a heavily decayed timber beam previously sited above this window opening with a new concrete lintel. In an ideal world we would have removed the kitchen units although the expense of removing and reinstating the units and granite worktops was difficult to justify. As an alternative we extensively protected the kitchen units and worktops with bubble wrap, plastic sheeting and plywood and erected a make shift scaffold over the kitchen to complete the work. A difficult job well executed.

  • Whilst undertaking an extensive drying project in North Yorkshire our client wanted to make some structural alterations and a redesign of the kitchen including building new walls and a fire place.   • Just taken delivery of our third van. This van is James's and has been coloured green to represent our woodworm and dry rot services. Looks fantastic.

  • Here our expert award winning joinery team have rebuilt this roof structure on a derelict shop building in Pontefract North Yorkshire after the property had been left in a state of disrepair and water ingress had caused extensive decay to the roof.  
  • There's nothing better than seeing a job complete. Here the teams have undertaken extensive repairs to this York property involving the installation of a new damp proof course system, re-plastering all walls and ceilings, installing new floors and fitting new skirting, architraves and picture rails. Looks great.

  • Excellent workmanship by Fraser Rafton our industry award wining employee and national award winning joiner. Here Fraser has put his talent to good use creating bespoke joinery skirting boards following extensive damp repairs for a well established solicitors in the City centre of York. 
  • Frasers looking very happy with himself in this photo as he gets stuck into removing dangerously rotten floor. Unfortunately this floor belonged to a lady who had been precariously walking aside the edge after the floor collapsed as it was the only access she had to her front door. Obviously an emergency job so we sent out award winning joiners to resolve her damp issues and install a new floor ASAP. Dryfix, now the 5th emergency service!
  • Alan's just putting the finishing touches to his immaculate brickwork following this structural alteration and amendment to an existing window opening which is now a beautiful pair of French doors. 
  • Team Dryfix have taken down these internal load bearing walls and provided support to the first floor walls and floors above to extend a kitchen and dining room into one room. All our work has now been  inspected and signed off by Building Control meaning a happy client who now looking forward to a new kitchen. 
  • Dryfix Technician and bricklayer Alan is erecting a new wall to support the canopy of a porch as the original supporting timber posts had decayed. 
  • Alan Rutter Dryfix Bricklayer is currently rebuilding the external leaf of a cavity wall which had become unstable due to severe cavity wall tie corrosion and lateral movement of the side wall due to lack of restraint. Alan is rebuilding the wall in the existing bricks which have been taken down and cleaned, in addition to installing new cavity wall ties, reinstating cavity wall insulation, re-fixing the windows and installing new lintels above the window openings.

  • Huge delivery today 21.5 tonne of specialist water proof plaster ordered for a project starting in North Yorkshire next week.

  • One of our technicians Fraser Rafton recently awarded 'Employee of the year' at the Property Care Association Awards 2014. Fraser is applying StormDry a masonry water repellent to recently repaired brickwork to the exposed gable elevation of a York property to provide further protection to the brickwork against spawling during the winter months.  
  • Dryfix structural repair involving erecting a structural inner leaf wall to a three story gable discovered to be constructed from only 100mm brickwork. This repair involved new foundations for the new internal wall, erection of new supporting pillars to support steels where internal walls had previously been removed in addition to tying the original gable wall to the new inner wall.

  • Replacement pre-treated floor joists sat upon newly constructed sub-floor foundation walls, just awaiting secretly nailed finished flooring. A job well done.

  • New window opening created including steel support to comply with building regulations. 
  • A water damaged wall caused by a leaking bathroom on the opposite side is being dried using a closed drying system using specialist desiccant dehumidifiers in a public building. Using our advanced drying systems we were able to salvage the plaster and reduce drying times dramatically saving our client the expense of reinstating the plaster and decor and a reduction in drying costs. 
  • This is Alan Rutter who has worked for Dryfix since its initial set up in 2008. In this photo Alan is preparing to cut a 10mm expansion joint vertically up through a 100mm solid wall a total of 9 meters high using a specialist Hilti diamond cutting dust extraction system.
